Quarantine Creativity

I'm back again with ways to get those creative juices flowing during quarantine. With my school semester just ending, I'm finding more time on my hands and less stuff on my to do list. This post is going to highlight one of my favorite projects thus far... T I E   D Y E

Tie dye has become trendy again and a lot of people have taken the opportunity of being home and not having too many responsibilities to DIY. People are creating their own unique tie dye clothing instead of purchasing them from large retailers. Not only are people doing this for pleasure, they're doing this to make $. So after seeing how cute everyone's stuff has turned out, I decided to try it myself.

I hopped onto Amazon to find matching sweatpants and sweatshirts and ended up finding some for less than $10 each and they got here in no time with Amazon Prime! Click here to get the same ones I bought. Not only were they cheap, they are sooooo comfy. Literally have been living in them since I did this project.

Instead of doing the traditional tie dye with colored dye and white clothing, I decided to use bleach on darker color clothing instead. I was a little nervous considering COVID circumstances and had it engraved in my mind that bleach was probably going to be hard to find at the store. But I was in luck and found some on the shelf, thanks everyone for leaving some for my unnecessary project! I combined it with water in an empty spray bottle I found in my laundry room and started getting everything tied up and ready with rubber bands.

I took the project outside because we all know the smell of bleach and how much that smell does not belong in the house where we quarantine. I sprayed the clothes all over and let the clothes sit and soak up the bleach for about an hour. I then threw them under water in the bathtub before taking them to the washer! Here's what it looked like at the end!

We love a good and cheap DIY project! Check out my other blog posts to see what else I have been up to during this crazy time.
